Walk the decks of a true Pacific Northwest icon! Built in Vancouver in 1922, the 73-foot wooden vessel Argonaut II has spent over a century on our waters. Originally launched as the corporate yacht Greta M, she was acquired by the United Church of Canada in 1934 and rechristened the Thomas Crosby IV. For over 30 years, she served as a crucial lifeline to more than 50 remote Northern BC ports of call, visiting isolated lighthouses, canneries, logging camps, and First Nations villages. During this era, she was skippered by the renowned Haida leader Rev. Dr. Peter Kelly, the first Indigenous person ordained in the United Church of Canada.

 

Below deck, Argonaut II remains remarkably preserved in her mission-boat era configuration. Step inside to see the stained glass salon cabinets, classic aft and forward staterooms, and her historic 1939 air-start 6-cylinder Gardner engine. Offered in collaboration with the Maritime Museum of BC, these guided tours offer a look inside a vessel undergoing an active, community-funded restoration under owner Nicholas Verrochi.
