Workshop: Sea Lanterns (Summer 2024)

Transform a simple mason jar into your own “sea lantern” while learning how lighthouses have been instrumental in keeping mariners safe here since the 1800s.

About this experience

Ever-present fog, shifting winds, and treacherous currents makes marine navigation challenging on British Columbia’s west coast, giving it the nickname “the Graveyard of the Pacific.” Transform a simple mason jar into your own “sea lantern” while learning how lighthouses have been instrumental in keeping mariners safe here since the 1800s.

Ticket includes admission to the Maritime Museum of BC (valid for 24 hours).
