British Columbia Black History Timeline

This 52 page publication by the BC Black History Awareness Society spans 190 years of events that affected Black settlement and the experiences of Black people in BC, as well as some significant events in Canada, the United States and globally.

Each entry is a story of community, politics, human rights, military, discrimination, education, or employment placed in its historical and contemporary context and presents a streamlined view of the contributions of Black people to the province and to help understand how people and events fit in to different eras.
