Tiny flapping sea angels? The underwater equivalent of the end of a fountain pen? This presentation introduces you to magical, but lesser known ocean denizens seen through the eyes of a Nanaimo-area scuba diver. Come meet your underwater neighbours!

About the Speaker

Kathleen Reed has been diving in the Salish Sea out of Snuneymuxw (Nanaimo) for 12 years and almost 500 dives. They started diving and taking underwater photos for fun, but quickly got involved in conservation activities such as tracking seastar wasting, surveying lingcod egg masses, and counting rockfish. When they’re not underwater, they’re a librarian and professor at Vancouver Island University. You can follow them on Twitter @kathleenreed.
